1-Seg TV iphone – finally Softbank
1
Softbank will bring 1seg TV to the iPhone in Japan. Not many details have been revealed at this point. It is expected that the device will not only bring digital TV to the iPhone 3G, but also will be an extra battery to enhence the limited life of the current 4-hour the iPhone has.
As Masayoshi Son presented the device on Thursday to the public he made clear that the iPhone is lacking specific features and functions unique and important to the japanese consumer market. The device will transmit 1-Seg digital TV broadcasting to iPhones through WiFi connection.
Since the 1-Seg WiFi tuner will work as mobile battery and is a kind of bulky to descirbe best, it is a relieve to know the tuner will work wireless with the Apple iPhone 3G. The downside is one more device to carry around and to find space to carry it. If you carry some kind of bag around you anyway you might be fine.
The WiFi tuner is a good candidate for your Christmas wish list or shopping list, since SoftBank will release the 1-Seg tuner, which also works as a mobile battery charger for the iPhone, in the middle of December. The price is expected to be around 10,000 Yen, in range to fit as a Christmas present for any iPhone lover in your family.
