Finally. I got my hands on the new OS 3.0 softwareupdate this morning. Took a little, because I had to upgrade my iTunes first. Once done it went smooth. Connect iPhone 3G, click update software in iTunes and wait…

After a few minutes iPhone makes a loud sound telling it is ready and up-to-date. First notice some the SMS icon changed and I got a new app on my iPhone called Voice Memos. Voice Memos is actually nothing new, if you happen to use the free app VoiceNotes. Same functions, only Voice Memos looks way cooler – good bye VoiceNotes – Sorry.

To bad there is no instructions or what so ever telling  you what is all new compared to OS 2.1 – but again, this is Apple and they never write any manual. Find out yourself or wait until some instruction books are out, coming soon to a bookstore near you or amazon.com .

If you can not wait, go to Apple website under iphone how to for some brief instructions,no video only in writing.

For me the big thing is “Copy&Past”. Really I still can’t believe it was not around from the beginning. Copy and past works very smooth and it takes the selection across different apps. When you copy something in Notes app, it is possible to past it in Mail app or MMS/SMS app. Within the app itself it works great too.

There are a few more improvements, but to early to tell if I take advantage of it, like bluetooth stereo. I am also sure future apps will take advantage of the new abilities OS 3.0 has to offer and I am looking forward to see them.

For now I am happy, got my copy&past finally and the update was easy without any problems done. Well there is still one little thing, wish I could schedule an automatic shutdown and start up on my iPhone, much like any other Apple computer can do… After all the iPhone is a computer with a phone function, or?
