I already have a plan set up on Rogers and I want to get the new iPhone 3G. I know that the 199 and 299 prices are for buying it with a 2-year plan or whatever, but I already have a plan so what will it cost?

Sorry you have to sign a two year contract with AT&T when you buy the new iPhone. So if you’re buying an iPhone for 199 it will be that plus the cost of signing up for a two year contract and whatever plan you get comes out to.
The 3G iPhone (just like the first iPhone) will cancel your current plan and start a new 2 year plan.
So it will still cost $199 and $299.
However if you are not qualified for upgrade (your current plan is with a non-iPhone phone and it hasn’t ended) then you will possibly pay the normal $399 and $499 unsubsidized price.
But Rogers may have their own thing, as the above statement only applies to AT&T.
Only AT&T subscribers can get the iPhone 3g for now. Unless you can get it unlocked. It is too new that there is no program available to unlock it yet.
Just wait for the 3g iphone that will be unlocked. i am almost sure it will be out sonner than we think…
