the iphone costs $199 for 8gb and $299 for 16bg. i recommend the 16g version, the extra $100 is worth it considering how much extra memory you get for applications, music, pictures, etc., which take up quite a bit of memory. on top of that, a $30 data charge per month is required with the phone (which includes unlimited internet and email). if you are interested in a business data plan (which includes the same as the previous plan, except with enterprise features, allowing for inter-office contact lists and other networking features), it will cost you $45 per month. texting does not come with the data plan, and costs $20 a month for unlimited and $30 a month for unlimited family texting. there are other options available with fewer texting, but i don’t advise it- i easily do 1000+ texts a month. otherwise, there is an $18 upgrade fee to the iphone (regardless of your previous phone).
those are all of the charges for the iphone. just a word of advice, go into the at&t store and place an order for it- shipments are usually unreliable and sometimes you might wait in line and come out with nothing. i ordered mine a few days ago, black 16gb and i can’t wait for it to come in. unfortunately though, they said shipping should be 2-4 weeks, and it has to be picked up and activated at the store. good luck.
