How Do You Get Your Songs And Apps Back On Your Iphone 3g After Restore?

Ok. I just restored my iphone 3G since i was having some problems and backed it up but all of my songs and apps are not on my phone any more. Does anyone know how to get them back on because i dont want to pay for them again and i dont even remember half of them.
Thx. PLEASE HELP!!

    Basically music and applications are not stored in your backups. iTunes assumes you have them in your music and application library already, so that you can just sync them over from the PC.
    If you purchased apps and music from the phone itself, and did not yet sync it to your PC, it is gone. BUT what you can do is just redownload all apps, cause once you’ve bought an app you can download it again for free. As for music, you will need to call the 1-800-MY-IPHONE number and ask to get the songs regranted, they can do a one time exception and let you redownload your music to your pc. In the future remember to sync your phone regularly and to make a backup of your itunes music library
