Is It Bad To Leave My Iphone 3g Charging All Day?

I usually try to keep my iPhone 3G plugged in at all times so that when I have to go somewhere, it’ll be fully charged.
BUT, is that bad for the battery? Does it make the battery life go bad after a while?

    You definitely shouldn’t do that at all!!! Keeping your phone’s charger on even when its fully charged firstly doesn’t make any sense and secondly is really harmful for the battery. This problem is called over-charging. This can lead to reduction of battery backup and ultimately complete battery failure. Over-charging of any electronic device wears out its battery much much faster than it discharging constantly because of use. So take care of your cell phone and NEVER over-charge.

    It is unwise to leave most devices charging unless they been specifically developed to prevent overcharging. Some chargers are switched internally from normal charging to what is called trickle charging, where it only keeps the battery at top charge without over charging but you have to weight that against it reliability to prevent shortening the life of your battery. As such generally it wise to as soon as possible after a full charge been done to disconnect it for a period of time.
