I had a first generation IPhone that broke and so I upgraded to the second generation, plain 3G. But it never uses a 3G connection, it only uses Edge everywhere I go. I know this because I see the little E in the top left corner of the screen. Is something wrong?

Wifi has nothing to do with it, its a local area network, 3G is AT&T’s network. Go to settings, general, network, and make sure 3G is enabled. If that doesn’t work, call AT&T.
