Hi, everyone.
I wanted to know what you would recommend for a teenage boy who is an avid texter, talks a lot, loves multimedia, and wants a good phone. I don’t need internet on my phone, although I could get it if I really wanted. I also want a lot of customization and ease of getting ringtones without paying much money. What would be a smarter decision to buy: the iPhone 3G S or the enV Touch?

enV Touch is really good. I have it and it works great. If you wanted web, it has it. It has a QWERTY keypad (duh) and there are plenty ringtones. The phone has touch screen like the iPhone, but can open. It is a terrific phone.

The iphone 3G S cause its really easy to text on once you get used to it and it has auto correction. On the new iphone you can customize the background to be white on black or how it already is. it has a good battery for talking (5 hours on 3G and 12 on EDGE). its also only $199 for the 16 GB model which is a lot of storage. Over all i would say that the iphone has the best touch screen out of all phones. Theres also a program you can download for the iphone that lets you make your own ringtones for free. Just type free iphone ringtone maker on google.

But is this going to be your first phone? I mean, you aren’t on contract with anyone right?
If not do your parents have good credit? If not, you will pay a $200 Security Deposit. And Verizon You will have to pay a $400 Security Deposit.
You can unlock an iPhone, not an enV Touch.
iPhone App Store is better. 50,000+ apps compared to Verizons’ only official SDK for big companies. iPhone’s App Store allows anyone to develop apps.

iPhone has a $30 extra for data, enV doesn’t.
$30 is worth the sacrifice

But that doesn’t really matter because the iPhone 3G S will be in your hand!!!!!
I would probably recommend the iPhone. Although I hate texting on a touch screen for everything else you like multimedia and customization; the iPhone sounds good due to all the free apps on iTunes.
